Match Schedule: Asian Men’s Handball Qualification for 2024 Olympic Games

Set to unfold in the vibrant city of Doha, Qatar, from October 18 – 28, 2023, the Asian Men’s Handball Qualification for 2024 Olympic Games will see eleven teams competing for the golden opportunity to secure their spot at the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.

The tournament is divided into two groups. Group A features the host and Asian champion Qatar, alongside Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Korea, the United Arab Emirates, India, and the People’s Republic of China. Meanwhile, Group B showcases the prowess of Bahrain, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Kuwait, Japan, and Kazakhstan following the unexpected withdrawal of Uzbekistan due to unforeseen circumstances.

All eyes will be fixed on the prestigious Duhail Handball Sports Hall, a venue set to witness every triumph and heartbreak during the tournament. Throwing off on October 18, the group stage matches will continue until October 24, culminating in a tense battle for advancement into the knockout rounds.

As the competition intensifies, October 26 will witness the 9th–10th place, 7th–8th place, and 5th–6th place matches, laying the groundwork for the much-anticipated semi-finals. The victors of these pivotal encounters will ultimately clash on October 28, competing for the coveted gold and silver medals.

The winner of the competition will qualify for the Men’s Handball Competition of the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris, scheduled for July 25 – August 11, 2024, whereas the silver medalist team from the event will qualify for the IHF Men’s Handball Olympic Qualification Tournament to be held from March 14 – 17, 2024.
