The draw for the 10th Asian Men’s Youth (U19) Handball Championship took place on Sunday, 3 March 2024, at the headquarters of the Islamic Republic of Iran Handball Federation in Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran.
The draw ceremony, which commenced at 14:30 hours, was graced by distinguished personalities, including Asian Handball Federation (AHF) Finance Director Bader Mohammed Al-Theyab (Kuwait), President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Handball Federation (IRIHF) Dr. Alireza Pakdel, Chairwoman of the AHF Promotion and Public Relation Commission (CPP) Mitra Noorigollehjareh (I.R. Iran), IRIHF General Secretary Aliakbar Khoshnevis Zarch and AHF Events Manager Marwan Mazen, and the representatives of the participating teams.
The 13 participating teams were divided into four groups. Host nation I.R. Iran exercised their right to select their group, ultimately opting for Group A.
The defending champion, the Republic of Korea, found itself in Group C alongside Bahrain and Chinese Taipei. Group B promises intense competition with the inclusion of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.
Group D features Japan, Kuwait, P.R. China, and Jordan, setting the stage for thrilling encounters. Host I.R. Iran, eager to showcase its prowess, opted for Group A, where they will contend with Iraq and India.

The 10th Asian Men’s Youth (U19) Handball Championship is scheduled to take place from 3 to 14 September 2024, in Shiraz, I.R. Iran. Beyond regional glory, this championship holds significant stakes as a qualification tournament for the 11th IHF Men’s Youth (U19) Handball World Championship.
The top five teams emerging from this event will secure coveted spots in the 11th IHF Men’s Youth (U19) Handball World Championship, slated to unfold in Slovenia in July/August 2025.
