Women's Handball Competition

The 19th Asian Games took place in Hangzhou, People’s Republic of China, from September 23 to October 8, 2023. Hangzhou became the third Chinese city to host the Asian Games, following Beijing in 1990 and Guangzhou in 2010. The event had originally been scheduled to occur from September 10 to 25, 2022, but it was postponed on May 6, 2022, due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic.

The women’s handball competition of the 19th Asian Games took place from September 24 to October 5, 2023, at the following two venues:

  • Zhejiang Normal University Xiaoshan Gymnasium, Xiaoshan district 
  • Zhejiang Gongshang University Sports Centre, Qiantang district

  • Vietnam withdrew from the competition before the draw due to unforeseen circumstances.

The draw was held on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at the Hotel Grand Parkray, Hangzhou, P.R. China, at 14:10 hrs. The following were present during the draw ceremony:
