The Asian Handball Federation (AHF) proudly announces the successful completion of the Asian Continental Handball Referees Course, held from November 6 to 16, 2023, at the Bahrain Handball Federation Hall in Manama, Bahrain.
The course, led by the Chairman of the AHF Playing Rules and Referees Commission (PRC), Saleh Bin Ashour (United Arab Emirates), saw active participation from 19 referee pairs representing 10 countries. Among the participants were four female pairs, highlighting the commitment to gender inclusion in handball officiating.
The following countries were represented in the course:
– I. R. Iran: 3 referee pairs (1 female pair)
– Maldives: 3 referee pairs (1 female pair)
– Iraq: 3 referee pairs
– Bahrain: 2 referee pairs (1 female pair)
– Syria: 2 referee pairs (1 female pair)
– Kuwait: 2 referee pairs
– Saudi Arabia, Republic of Korea, Bangladesh, and Hong Kong (China): 1 pair each
A moment of pride for the AHF, as 10 referee pairs, including the 4 female pairs, successfully completed the course and were awarded the prestigious AHF Referees Badge.
The closing ceremony, held on the last day, was graced by the presence of Ali Mohamed Isa Eshaqi, President of the Bahrain Handball Federation and Vice President of the AHF. The event served as a testament to the collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing the standard of handball refereeing across the Asian continent.
