The Asian Handball Federation (AHF) has opened the doors for member federations to vie for the honour of hosting two significant events, i.e., the 18th AHF Asian Men’s Junior (U21) Handball Championship and the 10th AHF Asian Men’s Youth (U19) Handball Championship. These championships are scheduled to take place in the summer of 2024 and hold substantial importance as they will also serve as the qualification tournaments for the IHF Men’s Junior (U21) Handball World Championship and the IHF Men’s Youth (U19) Handball World Championship in 2025.
Tournament Dates and Significance
The 18th AHF Asian Men’s Junior (U21) Handball Championship is set to unfold from July 20–29, 2024. This gathering of young handball talents from across Asia will not only showcase the skills and dedication of these players but will also determine the teams that will make their way to the 25th IHF Men’s Junior (U21) Handball World Championship in Poland in 2025.
Subsequently, the 10th AHF Asian Men’s Youth (U19) Handball Championship will take place from August 25–September 3, 2024. The youth championship holds dual significance, as it not only acts as a battleground for the brightest young handball prospects in Asia but also as a gateway to the 11th IHF Men’s Youth (U19) Handball World Championship in Slovenia in 2025.
Call for Hosting Applications
The AHF has extended an open invitation to all its member federations, urging them to submit their bids to host these prestigious events. Any federation interested in taking on the responsibility of hosting these championships must complete and submit the application form to the AHF Head Office no later than September 30, 2023.
The process of selecting the hosts for these championships will be overseen by the AHF Executive Committee. The host nations will be announced following careful consideration and evaluation, which will likely occur during one of the AHF Executive Committee’s upcoming meetings.
