It is with profound sadness that the Asian Handball Federation (AHF) announces the demise of His Highness Late Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah of the State of Kuwait. The late Emir peacefully departed from this world today, Saturday, 16 December 2023, at the age of 86.
The AHF extends its heartfelt condolences to the royal family, the people of Kuwait, and the entire Gulf region during this time of mourning. We join in the collective prayers for Almighty Allah to shower the departed soul with boundless mercy and grant him a place in his expansive paradise.
In response to this solemn occasion, the Government of the State of Kuwait has declared a 40-day official mourning period, accompanied by a three-day closure of governmental offices.
The AHF shares in the grief of the Kuwaiti people and honors the memory of His Highness Late Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
