The draw for the 20th AHF Asian Women’s Handball Championship was successfully conducted on 18 October 2024 at The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel, King Surajmal Road, Delhi. The draw ceremony, which began at 16:00 hours, was held in the presence of AHF Assistant Technical Director Abdullah Jasem Al-Theyab (Kuwait) and representatives from the participating teams.
The results of the draw are as follows:
Group A: Republic of Korea, People’s Republic of China, Kazakhstan, Singapore
Group B: India, Japan, Islamic Republic of Iran, Hong Kong–China
The 20th AHF Asian Women’s Handball Championship is scheduled to take place from 1 to 12 December 2024, in New Delhi, marking the first time this prestigious competition will be hosted by the Handball Association India (HAI). Originally planned to be held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, the championship was later relocated to New Delhi.
In addition to crowning Asia’s women’s handball champion, the tournament will serve as a qualifying event for the 27th IHF Women’s Handball World Championship, which will be held in Germany and the Netherlands in December 2025. The top four teams from the Asian Championship will secure their places in the global competition.
