Draw Results of 22nd Asian Men’s Handball Championship – Kuwait 2026

The Asian Handball Federation (AHF) is pleased to announce the draw results for the 22nd Asian Men’s Handball Championship, which will take place from 15 to 29 January 2026 in Kuwait. The championship will also serve as the Asian qualification tournament for the 30th IHF Men’s Handball World Championship to be held in Germany from 13 to 31 January 2027.

The draw ceremony was conducted on 15 October 2025 at 17:30 (Kuwait local time) in the Conference Room of the Safir Fintas Kuwait Hotel, Fintas City, State of Kuwait. The event was held in the presence of senior officials of the Asian Handball Federation and representatives of the participating national teams. Among those present were Bader Mohammed Al-Theyab (AHF Finance Director), Ahmed Al-Shaabi (AHF Vice President & President of Qatar Handball Association), Jasem Mohammad Al-Theyab (AHF Technical Director), and Dr. Ahmad Abu Al-Lail (AHF Executive Director), along with officials from the Kuwait Handball Association.

Draw results are as follows:

Group A: Qatar, Republic of Korea, Oman 

Group B: Bahrain, Iraq, P. R. China, Jordan

Group C: Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong-China, India  

Pot 4: Japan, I. R. Iran, Saudi Arabia, Australia

The 22nd Asian Men’s Championship will bring together the strongest teams across the continent, including defending champions Qatar, powerhouse nations Republic of Korea and Japan, and host nation Kuwait. The tournament promises high-level competition as Asia’s best teams battle for both continental supremacy and qualification spots for the 2027 World Championship.

Following the draw, a hosting contract was signed between the Asian Handball Federation (AHF) and the Kuwait Handball Association (KHA). Representing the AHF, Technical Director Mr. Jasem Mohammed Al-Theyab formalized the agreement, while Acting President Shabeeb Saad Al-Hajri signed on behalf of KHA.
