The Asian Handball Federation (AHF) is pleased to announce that the draw ceremony for the men’s and women’s handball events of the 3rd Asian Youth Games was held on 8 September 2025 at the Gulf Hotel Convention & Spa, Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain.
The draw was conducted in the presence of Ali Mohamed Isa Abdulla Eshaqi, Member of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and AHF Vice President; Yousef Duaij, Chairman of the Executive Committee for the Games; Ahmed Mohammed Abdulghaffar, Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee; and Ganesan Sundaram Moorthy, Sports Director of the Olympic Council of Asia.
The ceremony also featured the official mascots of the Games—Shahab, the main mascot, accompanied by Najm and Dana as welcoming mascots.
The draw results are as follows:
Men’s handball event
Group A: Bahrain, Jordan, Thailand
Group B: Kuwait, People’s Republic of China, India
Group C: Islamic Republic of Iran, United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong–China
Group D: Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Uzbekistan, Maldives
Women’s handball event
Group A: People’s Republic of China, India, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong–China, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Islamic Republic of Iran
The 3rd Asian Youth Games will take place from 22 to 31 October 2025 in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The men’s handball event will be held at the Umm Al Hassam Sports Hall (A), Manama, while the women’s handball event will be played at the BFA Futsal Hall, Isa Sports City. The match schedule will be published in due course.
AHF congratulates all participating nations and looks forward to an exciting and competitive showcase of youth handball talent at the 3rd Asian Youth Games.
