India to host 10th Asian Women’s Youth (U18) Handball Championship

The Asian Handball Federation (AHF) has awarded the hosting rights of the 10th Asian Women’s Youth (U18) Handball Championship to the Handball Association India (HAI). The championship is scheduled to be held from 23rd July to 1st August 2023, in Jaipur, India.
If 10 or more teams participate in the championship, then the top 5 teams will directly qualify for the 10th IHF Women’s Youth (U18) Handball World Championship, which will be held in July/August 2024.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is the defending champion, having won the title back in March 2022 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, where the Asian handball powerhouses, the Republic of Korea, China, and Japan, did not participate due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Republic of Korea are the record title holders, having won the championship eight consecutive times since the inaugural edition in 2005.
