The Asian Handball Federation (AHF) is thrilled to unveil the much-anticipated match schedule for the 26th Asian Men’s Club League Handball Championship. This prestigious event is set to take place in the vibrant city of Sabah Al-Salem, Kuwait, from November 17 – 27, 2023. The tournament will be hosted at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah Indoor Sports Halls Complex, a fitting venue for the display of top-tier handball skills.
A total of twelve clubs from nine countries are set to battle it out in this championship, and they have been grouped into two fiercely competitive divisions. Group A comprises defending champions Al-Najma Club (Bahrain), Al-Kuwait SC (Kuwait), Al-Gharafa SC (Qatar), Khaleej Club (Saudi Arabia), Al-Salah SC (Palestine), and Golden Eagles (India). In Group B, the host team Qadsia SC (Kuwait) will face off against the Sports Authority of India (India), Al-Arabi SC (Qatar), Al-Jaish SC (Iraq), Shabab Haret Saida (Lebanon), and Sharjah SC (United Arab Emirates).
The championship will start with the opening match between Al-Arabi SC (Qatar) and Al-Jaish SC (Iraq) on November 17 at 10:00 hrs, setting the tone for the thrilling action to come. Later in the day, host team Qadsia SC (Kuwait) will take on Sharjah SC (United Arab Emirates) at 18:00 hrs.
Preliminary group stage matches will unfold from November 17 to November 24, promising exhilarating handball action. Following these intense encounters, the top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals on November 26. The tournament reaches its climax with the final and the bronze medal match, both scheduled for November 27.
The stakes are high in this competition, as the winner will secure a coveted spot at the 18th IHF Men’s Super Globe to be held in 2024.
