Olympic Solidarity course successfully completed in Pakistan

The IOC Olympic Solidarity Technical Course for handball coaches-cum-IHF Coaches License C course concluded at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) yesterday. The course was organised by the Pakistan Handball Federation (PHF) in collaboration with the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA). It was held from 26th May to 2nd June 2022.

The 8-day course, conducted by IHF Lecturer Alireza Habibi (I. R. Iran), was attended by 36 nominees from the Pakistan Army, WAPDA, Pakistan Railways, Pakistan Police, Universities, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the Afghanistan Handball Federation.

At the closing ceremony, Manzoor-ul-Hassan, world champion and Olympic bronze medalist in hockey, was the chief guest who distributed the certificates to the participants.

The following other dignitaries also distributed the certificates and souvenirs to the participants:

  1. International Handball Federation (IHF) Expert Alireza Habibi (I. R. Iran)
  2. President of Afghanistan Handball Federation Hedayatullah Muhmand
  3. UAF Chairman of Sports Board Dr. Ahmad Sattar Khan
  4. PHF Acting Secretary General Mrs. Saqlain Kausar

At the closing ceremony, PHF President Muhammad Shafiq, who is also POA Treasurer and Secretary General of the Asian Handball Federation, thanked POA for allotting this course to the Pakistan Handball Federation and cooperating in every respect. He also thanked the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad for providing excellent facilities for organising this course. He congratulated all the participants and hoped that this would boost handball in Pakistan.
