The Asian Handball Federation (AHF) is pleased to award the hosting rights of the 19th Asian Men’s Junior Handball Championship to the Chinese Handball Association. The championship will be held from 15 to 26 July 2026 in Chuzhou, People’s Republic of China.

This will mark the second occasion that the People’s Republic of China hosts the prestigious continental junior competition, coming 34 years after it previously staged the 3rd edition in 1992 in Beijing.

In addition to the coveted title, the championship will also serve as the qualification event for the 26th IHF Men’s Junior (U21) Handball World Championship, with the top four (4) teams securing direct qualification for the global tournament scheduled to be held in June/July 2027.

The competition will see Japan enter as the defending champions, having captured their second consecutive title at the 2024 edition hosted in Amman, Jordan. Historically, Kuwait and Qatar remain the most successful nations in the competition, each having lifted the championship trophy five times.

Meanwhile, Republic of Korea hold the distinction of being the most decorated team overall, having won a total of 13 medals, comprising 3 gold, 7 silver, and 3 bronze. The host nation, P. R. China, claimed their lone championship title during the 2nd edition in 1990, which was held in Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran.
