The 10th Asian Men’s Youth Handball Championship is scheduled to take place from 3 to 14 September 2024, in Shiraz, Islamic Republic of Iran. This marks the second occasion that the competition will be hosted by the Islamic Republic of Iran Handball Federation (IRIHF), having previously hosted it in 2006. Furthermore, the championship will serve as a qualifying event for the 11th IHF Men’s Youth (U19) Handball World Championship in Slovenia, slated for July/August 2025. The top five teams from this competition will secure qualification spots for the World Championship.
The Republic of Korea enters as the defending champion, having clinched the title three times in 2005, 2014, and 2022. Notably, Japan and the Republic of Korea are the only teams to have participated in all nine previous editions of the championship. Additionally, I. R. Iran, Bahrain, and Qatar have participated in eight editions, missing only one. The Republic of Korea has accumulated a total of seven medals in the nine editions, including three gold, one silver, and three bronze medals. Similarly, Qatar and Japan have each secured a total of five medals.
The draw took place on Sunday, 3 March 2024, from 14:30 hours onwards at the headquarters of the Islamic Republic of Iran Handball Federation in Tehran, I. R. Iran. The following dignitaries were present during the draw ceremony in addition to the representatives of the participating teams:
