Qatar has won the 9th edition of the Asian Men’s Beach Handball Championship. Eleven nations competed in the event held at Nusa Dua Beach, South Kuta, Bali, Indonesia, from March 10–19, 2023.
The eleven teams were divided into two preliminary groups as follows:
Group A: I.R. Iran, Qatar, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia
Group B: Indonesia, Vietnam, Oman, Hong Kong (China), Kuwait, P.R. China
Qatar and I.R. Iran from Group A, and Oman and Vietnam from Group B, advanced to the semi-finals. Kuwait, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Saudi Arabia had to play in the 5th–8th placement matches after they failed to progress to the semi-finals. The Republic of Korea takes on P.R. China for the 9th–10th place match. Hong Kong (China) failed to win a single match in the preliminary group and ranked last in 11th place at the championship.
In the semi-finals, Qatar and Oman defeated Vietnam and I.R. Iran, respectively, by 2–0 and entered the final.
In the bronze medal match, I.R. Iran defeated Vietnam by 2–0 (17–9; 17–10).
In the final match, Qatar defeated Oman by 2–0 (18–14; 16–12).
