Vietnam won gold at the beach handball event of the 31st Southeast Asian Games

Vietnam has won the gold medal in the beach handball event of the 31st Southeast Asian Games. Four countries, i.e., host Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, and the Philippines, competed in the event held at Tuần Châu, Vietnam, from May 06 to May 11, 2022.

The competition saw four nations compete in a double-round-robin tournament, with Vietnam winning all of its six matches. The Philippines won 4 out of 6 matches and Thailand won 2 out of its 6 matches. Singapore was not able to win any of its matches and finished last in the event.

Vietnam, the Philippines, and Thailand won gold, silver, and bronze medals, respectively.

This is the second time that the beach handball event has been featured at the Southeast Asian Games. Vietnam also won gold in the previous edition, which was held in the Philippines in 2019.
