Vietnam won gold medal in the men’s handball event of the 31st Southeast Asian Games

Vietnam has won the gold medal in the men’s handball event of the 31st Southeast Asian Games. Three countries, i.e., host Vietnam, Singapore, and Thailand, competed in the event held at Bắc Ninh Sports University Gymnasium, Bắc Ninh, Vietnam, from 15 to 21 May 2022.

The competition saw three nations compete in a double-round-robin tournament, with Vietnam finishing the group in top position with 3 wins and 1 draw, a total of 7 points. Thailand played 2 draws against hosts Vietnam and Singapore, and won and lost 1 match each, finishing the group in second place with 4 points. Singapore lost 3 of 4 matches, played 1 draw against Thailand and got 1 point in the group table.

Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore won gold, silver, and bronze medals, respectively. The following dignitaries presented the medals for the competition and the medalists’ bouquets to the winning teams:
