Vietnam won gold medal in the women’s handball event of the 31st Southeast Asian Games

Vietnam has won the gold medal in the women’s handball event of the 31st Southeast Asian Games. Three countries, i.e., host Vietnam, Singapore, and Thailand, competed in the event held at Bắc Ninh Sports University Gymnasium, Bắc Ninh, Vietnam, from 15 to 21 May 2022.

The competition saw three nations compete in a double-round-robin tournament, with Vietnam winning all of its four matches. Thailand won 2 out of its 4 matches. Singapore was not able to win any of its matches and finished last in the event.

Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore won gold, silver, and bronze medals, respectively. The following dignitaries presented the medals for the competition and the medalists’ bouquets to the winning teams:

  4. Dr. Chatchai Sangsukeelux, Member of the AHF Playing Rules and Referees Commission (PRC)
  5. Kang Yong-gu (Korea), AHF Technical Delegate
