Vietnam has won the 8th edition of the Asian Women’s Beach Handball Championship. Three countries, i.e., host Thailand, Vietnam, and debutant India, competed in the event held at the Sports Authority of Thailand Huamark, Bangkok, from April 25 to 30, 2022.
The competition saw three nations compete in a double-round-robin tournament, with both Thailand and Vietnam winning three of their four matches. On the third day of the competition, Thailand defeated the previous edition’s silver medalist, Vietnam, by 2–1 (20:27, 20:16, 8:4). On the last day of the competition, Vietnam took revenge by defeating Thailand by 2–0 (22:20, 22:18). Thus, Thailand and Vietnam both got 6 points for 3 wins and 1 loss in the group.
Due to a better period difference, Vietnam took the gold medal in the competition, and host Thailand won the silver medal. Debutant India could not win any of their four matches and had to be content with the bronze medal.
