10th IHF Women’s Beach Handball World Championship concluded in Greece

The 10th IHF Women’s Beach Handball World Championship concluded in Greece today with Germany claiming the title by defeating Spain in the final by 2–0. The event took place at the Karteros Beach Sports Center, Heraklion, Greece, from 21st to 26th June 2022.

Vietnam and Thailand are the two Asian countries that have qualified for the event. Vietnam was drawn in Group B along with Denmark, Spain, and the United States of America, whereas Thailand was drawn in Group A along with Greece, Portugal, and Mexico.

The results of Vietnam in the preliminary group are as follows:

  • Vietnam VS Denmark 0–2
  • Vietnam VS Spain 0–2
  • Vietnam VS United States of America 1–2

The results of Thailand in the preliminary group are as follows:

  • Thailand VS Portugal 1–2
  • Thailand VS Greece 0–2
  • Thailand VS Mexico 2–0

Thailand advanced to the main round and was seeded in Group I along with Denmark, Greece, Portugal, Spain, and the United States of America.

The results of Thailand in the main group are as follows:

  • Thailand VS Denmark 0–2
  • Thailand VS United States of America 2–1
  • Thailand VS Spain 1–2

Thailand finished 5th in the main group and failed to advance to the quarter-finals.

Thailand finished in 10th position at the event, whereas Vietnam finished in 13th position out of a total of 16 participating teams.
