Draw results announced for 27th Asian Men’s Club League Handball Championship: Doha 2024

The official draw for the 27th Asian Men’s Club League Handball Championship took place on Thursday, 22 August 2024, from 19:00 hrs. onwards at the Qatar Handball Association (QHA) headquarters, located at the Al-Duhail Handball Sports Hall in Doha.

Key attendees at the draw ceremony included AHF Technical Director Jasem Mohammed Al-Theyab (Kuwait), AHF Vice President and QHA President Ahmed Mohammad Al-Shaabi, Chairman of the AHF Marketing Commission and QHA Secretary General Mohamed Jaber Al-Mulla, Al-Rayyan SC Vice President Ali Salem Al-Afifa, and AHF Assistant Technical Director Abdullah Jasem Al-Theyab (Kuwait).

The draw divided the 10 participating clubs into two groups, with the host team, Al-Rayyan SC (Qatar), exercising their right to select their group. They chose to compete in Group A.

Group A: Al-Rayyan SC (Qatar), Al-Karkh SC (Iraq), Al-Kuwait SC (Kuwait), Sharjah SC (United Arab Emirates), Al-Shabab Club (Bahrain)

Group B: Khaleej Club (Saudi Arabia), Ahli Sidab Club (Oman), Al-Duhail SC (Qatar), Kazma SC (Kuwait), Sanat Mes Kerman (I. R. Iran)

The 27th Asian Men’s Club League Handball Championship is scheduled to be held from 12 to 23 November 2024 in Doha, Qatar. This prestigious event not only offers the title of Asian champion but also serves as a qualification tournament for the 18th IHF Men’s Handball Club World Championship. The winner of the championship will earn the right to compete in the Club World Championship, which will take place in the New Administrative Capital, Egypt, in October 2025.

Following the draw, a hosting contract was signed between the AHF and Al-Rayyan SC. Representing the AHF, Technical Director Jasem Mohammed Al-Theyab formalized the agreement, while Vice President Ali Salem Al-Afifa signed on behalf of Al-Rayyan SC. This contract solidifies Al-Rayyan SC’s role as the official host of the upcoming championship.
