Bader Mohammed Al-Theyab to become AHF President, Muhammad Shafiq to continue as Secretary General

The Asian Handball Federation (AHF) is pleased to announce that, in accordance with the provisions of its Constitution and electoral regulations, Bader Mohammed Al-Theyab (State of Kuwait), the current Treasurer of the Federation, is set to be elected as President of the Asian Handball Federation for the term 2025–2029. His nomination stands uncontested, with no other candidatures received by the nomination deadline of 28 July 2025.

In a similar manner, Muhammad Shafiq (Islamic Republic of Pakistan), the incumbent Secretary General of the Asian Handball Federation, is also set to be re-elected unopposed for a further four-year term, extending his longstanding and distinguished service in the position. As with the presidential office, no alternative nominations for Secretary General were submitted by the aforementioned deadline, affirming broad consensus and support among the member federations.

The formal ratification of both appointments will take place during the forthcoming 25th AHF Ordinary Congress, scheduled to be held on 20 December 2025 at the St. Regis New Capital Hotel in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt. The Congress will be attended by delegates from across the continent and will include elections for other positions within the Council and the Executive Committee, alongside deliberations on key strategic and administrative matters.
