The Asian Handball Federation is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the draw ceremony for the 28th Asian Men’s Club League Handball Championship, which will be held from 6 to 15 June 2026 in Sabah Al-Salem, State of Kuwait.
The championship will serve as the qualification event for the 19th IHF Men’s Handball Club World Championship, with the winner securing direct qualification for the global tournament scheduled to be held October 2026 in Egypt.
The draw ceremony was conducted on 16 May 2026 at 19:00 hrs. (Kuwait local time) in the presence of AHF Technical Director Jasem Al-Theyab, AHF Treasurer Faisal Baqer, and representatives of the participating clubs.
A total of eight clubs from across Asia were drawn into two groups for the preliminary stage of the competition.
Group A: Sharjah SC (United Arab Emirates), Burgan SC (Kuwait), CHA Club (P. R. China), Al-Duhail SC (Qatar)
Group B: Al-Kuwait SC (Kuwait), Al-Najma Club (Bahrain), Khaleej Club (Saudi Arabia), Al-Arabi SC (Qatar)

The championship is expected to showcase high-level club handball competition featuring many of Asia’s leading clubs competing for the continental title and a coveted berth at the IHF Men’s Handball Club World Championship.
Following the draw ceremony, a hosting contract for the championship was formally signed between the Asian Handball Federation and Al-Kuwait SC. Representing the AHF, Treasurer Faisal Baqer signed the agreement, while Haithem Al-Rasheedi signed on behalf of Al-Kuwait SC, officially confirming the club’s role as the host of the competition.
