The Asian Handball Federation (AHF) is pleased to announce the match schedule for the Beach Handball competition of the 6th Asian Beach Games, scheduled to take place from 21 to 30 April 2026 at the Tianya Haijiao Venue Cluster in Sanya, People’s Republic of China.
The 6th Asian Beach Games, organized under the auspices of the Olympic Council of Asia, mark the return of the Games after a decade-long hiatus since the 2016 edition. The beach handball competition will feature leading teams from across Asia, divided into two preliminary groups following the official draw conducted on 18 March 2026 in the presence of representatives from the Olympic Council of Asia and the Organizing Committee.
A total of 14 teams will participate in the men’s beach handball competition after the withdrawal of India. Group A comprises People’s Republic of China, Islamic Republic of Iran, Philippines, Hong Kong–China, Sri Lanka and Bahrain, while Group B includes Oman, Pakistan, Jordan, Maldives, Bangladesh, Thailand, Qatar, and Mongolia.
In the women’s beach handball competition, a total of 8 teams will participate after the withdrawal of India. Group A comprises Vietnam, Philippines, Hong Kong–China, and Thailand, while Group B includes P. R. China, Turkmenistan, Sri Lanka, and Mongolia.
The preliminary round matches of men’s competition will be held from 21 – 27 April while the women’s competition preliminary round matches will be held from 23 – 27 April.
The semi-finals of both competitions are scheduled for 28 April followed by finals and third place matches on 30 April.
